After 23 years in Western North Carolina, Asheville-born singer-songwriter Naomie April released her debut album of original music “Stages” and drove to New Orleans the very next day. She never left. That was November 2024, and since then she has made a name for herself with a weekly residency at the Hotel Monteleone and as a frequent performer at Snug Harbor, The Spotted Cat, Three Muses, The Maple Leaf and countless other storied local venues. 

Her music translates her lived experiences into soaring, operatic pop rock and soulful jazz storytelling. It is raw, highly vulnerable, and real down to the core – a message that is relatable to every human heart. Her liberating style is influenced by synesthesia, the ability to experience colors with multiple senses. She is currently working on a new batch of original music, made in New Orleans and soon to be recorded there.

Naomie April has been taking voice and piano lessons since the age of 12; joined Vagabond Voices at the Flat Rock Playhouse at the age of 15; and studied jazz piano under Alex Taub. She attended Brevard College at 17 to study Jazz, Pop, Rock, and Classical Opera while performing at clubs and cafes in various counties around western North Carolina. She graduated in Spring, 2022 with a Music Performance degree.Naomie April is a singer and songwriter from western North Carolina. Composing since the age of seven and entering the recording studio at age twelve, her songs are deep and rolling like the mountains around her home. She writes ballads filled with allegory and sings them with the big timbre of her soul.
